The place where a 1 minute flash postings will take an idea about what learning is, what it isn't and how it works. Hopefully you will add an idea to construct a deeper understanding. Click COMMENTS link to respond.
Wow... that is so cool! As to what you would do if you didn't use age as an excuse, that's simple... you'd just have to find another excuse! Fortunately, human beings are very resourceful and tremendously creative when it comes to finding excuses so that shouldn't be that much of mental workout at all! But three cheers for you Mom for forgetting about the excuses and just pressing on with the adventure... may her tribe increase! gj
Great example. I think it is also important to note that she knew, or was smart enough to realize that she could not do it alone and got a coach to help.
Do we really choose to learn? Maybe we can choose what and how to learn. We are always learning something whether useful (to us because we chose it) or not. We can choose to learn the "soft" way or the hard way.
Thank you for that, that was truly inspiring as I frustrate over the new technology which seems to be taking over, like the new system that operates your TV, your computer, your stereo system and your phone!! I can hardly figure out the TV with all it's remotes! I must not give up! I think sometimes what hinders for me is time, time to learn and of course the fact that I do not learn as fast as I used to. This link got me there! I'm going to forward this to a few of our seniors (they are already computer savvy but the concept still applies!). JW
What an inspiration and encouragement your Mom is, I am so glad I didn't miss this. May God increase her joy of learning.

I enjoy all of these Jim, but this one was really special. As you say, Bravo mom!

thanks Jim, Learning, for me, is my #1 life value....at the end of every day, I ask myself "what did I learn today?" Beth
