Learning dissonance

We looked at learner harmonics and how a coach finds the natural frequencies to make a learner vibrate. The opposite of this is called learning dissonance: the activity that dampens the natural qualities of a learner.

Click on the 'comments button' and tell us what kills learning for you. Please feel free to rant. We can learn to avoid those things that destroy learner harmonics.

  1. Hi Jim,
Wow! What a creative way to teach/illustrate the aggravation of dissonance! As I pressed harder to catch what was being said ( and hoped you'd soon speak without the echo...) I was easily in touch with things that create dissonance for me...like pace differences - someone speaking too slowly or taking too long to make their point, or too much information on a page, or someone checking their watch while I am talking ( guess in that case I'm too slow for them!!). Thanks for another fantastic 1 Minute of Learning!
