Find the story, to help people learn

To help people learn, find the story.

  1. One should never underestimate the power of story. There is such a creative power in narrative as it draws us in and forward (or backward as the case may indeed be). It is good to have insightful tools and the ability to use them when it comes to understanding, creating and challenging stories but most of us are not all that literate with respect to the actual power of stories. It would seem to me that much of the so-called leadership within government, education, religion, media and so on these days is counting on that illiteracy to spin the magic of self-serving stories to exercise power in their chosen domains. Gaining literacy through the power of story not only can help people to learn (on the positive side) it can also keep people in bondage (on the negative side). In many ways, a story is simply a very powerful tool as every con man and Ponzi-scheme promoter knows (they all have great stories). It may even be a case that the better the story the more discernment that is required but one thing is for sure, we love stories and the gifts we suppose they bring.

  2. I agree fully, that a story can catch someone's attention, and can be retained more easily than any other form of literature. I can also be re-told. Thus, the importance of the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. Thank you Jim, for the amazing sharing of that photo and the anonymous thoughts shared above. Amigaver
